HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?
The uncontested divorce process is basically a
set of papers setting forth the facts of your
matter and the terms of your divorce settlement
which are signed by you and your spouse and
forwarded to the Supreme Court for signature by
a Judge.
Once the
Judge's has signed the Judgment of Divorce, it
is entered into the records of the County Clerk
reflecting dissolution of your marriage.
HOW LONG DOES THIS PROCESS TAKE?
Preparation of your divorce documents can take
several weeks, but we can expedite your matter
if necessary. Once the documents are
signed by you and your spouse, and then
submitted to the Court, it can take several
weeks to several months for a Judge to sign and
finalize the divorce. The time frame for a
Judge to sign depends on the Court's calendar
and the caseload of the County in which the
divorce is commenced.
WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME?
In order to prepare your divorce documents,
certain facts are required by the Court.
We may interview you over the telephone or you
can submit the written Divorce Questionnaire by
mail.
HOW IS PAYMENT MADE?
Payment can be made in one or two payments.
We can work with you.
We accept payments by most charge cards, via
postal money order or Western Union.
